Ford’s Colony Country Club Wedding
I met up with Rebecca and Matthew in NYC last summer to chat about what they were planning for their wedding at Ford’s Colony Country Club in Williamsburg, VA. These two are some of the sweetest loves around, and Rebecca’s smile lights up a room! Rebecca and Matthew are adorable, and I knew their wedding was going to be out of this world spectacular.
Ford’s Colony Country Club is such a beautiful and elegant wedding venue! I love the molding on the walls and chandeliers everywhere. It makes for a great venue even on a rainy (or snowy!) day. We experienced all the elements on their wedding day. It started snowing in the morning and transitioned into hail and rain. Luckily, as soon as their ceremony was over the clouds parted. The sun finally managed to shine when we needed it the most for portraits and I am so thankful! It was so cool to see the ballroom slowly brighten throughout their ceremony. It made it feel so ethereal. Plus, Rebecca was already a vision in her stunning gown!
Rebecca and Matthew are high school sweethearts. They met because of their moms who worked together! Isn’t this the cutest ever? So their families were already close. These lovebirds got engaged in Miami last year. Matthew spent the day carrying around the ring waiting for the perfect moment. He then decided, there is no perfect moment! He just knew he wanted to spend forever with Rebecca and got down on one knee outside their car. When you know, you know!!
Williamsburg is such a beautiful destination for weddings anytime of the year. The views of the river are prominent at so many of the wedding venues. The area is rich with colonial history and has an incomparable charm. I’m looking forward to being able to photograph more amazing couples in Williamsburg in the future!
