Charlottesville VA Maternity Photography

I have photographed all of the amazing life events for Christy and James over the years. I met them for their engagement session several years ago. Christy and I discovered that we went to high schools very close together. It’s incredible making connections like this with all my couples and their families. The world is such a small place. From their wedding to baby Slate and now baby number two, I consider Christy and James very good friends.

The Crawfords live on a beautiful farm in Charlottesville that they have completely made their own. I love watching their life updates when they post photos of little Slate helping with farm chores like taking care of the chickens. They are such a sweet family and lead such meaningful lives. Christy and James really do enrich the lives of everyone around them.

Any day now they will be welcoming baby number two into their lives. If the timing works out, I will be lucky enough to be in the delivery room for his arrival! I’m so thankful to have couples who are so dear to my heart that they welcome me into this really intimate experience. I’ve shared so many precious life changing memories with so many people, and being in the delivery room is such a cherished one.

Slate is the happiest kid I have ever met, and I am certain his baby brother will be just the same. This whole family breathes life into every situation and their presence has enriched my life greatly. Christy will officially be a boy mom in a few short days. She is poised and patience and her boys are lucky to have her raising them!

Tuckahoe Women’s Club Wedding in Richmond VA

Elizabeth and Michael met their first day of medical school. If that isn’t the cutest thing in the world, I don’t know what is.

These two have been planning an epic garden wedding at Tuckahoe Women’s Club all while in the middle of medical school. They make you feel like anything is possible!

The day was flawless. We had perfect spring weather complete with the full bloom of cherry blossoms at their venue. We hopped all around Richmond to take photos in some of their favorite places. This included the VMFA where we had their engagement session. It was fun to take photos in a place that means so much to them! This sweet couple spends a lot of time walking around the VMFA neighborhood together when they aren’t busy in class. It was fitting we take their engagement and wedding portraits there!

Their wedding reception at the Tuckahoe Women’s Club had a beautiful array of spring bouquets as centerpieces. I love when bride’s choose to have long banquet tables in addition to circular ones. It really adds depth and intrigue to the space!

Luckily for us, there were some stunning cherry blossoms just across the street from their venue, so we took advantage of that beautiful evening light to document them together.

I’m so lucky to have gotten to know Elizabeth and Michael. They are sweethearts in every way and have made this start of 2019 a beautiful one.

      Newborn Session in Richmond VA

I have had to pleasure of documenting the Clendenin family for several years now as their family has grown.  Carson was their first baby boy and now they have welcomed baby Peter in the family.

Ellie is now mama to two sweet boys as well as their dog George. She is officially a boy mom! I am so grateful this family has welcomed me into their lives and home. They are such kind and caring people and it shines through in everything they do.

Photographing newborn sessions in Richmond VA is such an amazing opportunity to continue documenting couples’ lives after marriage. It’s amazing getting to stay connected with so many different families through every important life moment. You see a lot change in paths towards parenthood, always for the better.

Ellie helped her family pick out the perfect wardrobe for their session, and I adore that we were able to use the tulips in their front yard. It was a perfect setting for the gorgeous spring day we had. Inside their home it feels like a gorgeous English country house. The soft white color palette blended seamlessly with the backdrop.

The Clendenins have created a home full of love, and I’m so grateful to know them!

DUMBO and Manhattan Bridge Engagement Photos

I have known Kirsten since we met in college at Elon University. We were sorority sisters, and she is still one of the kindest and most welcoming people I know. Being able to meet up with these two in DUMBO near both the Brooklyn Bridge and Manhattan Bridge was pretty spectacular.

The view in DUMBO is out of this world, and it is the perfect area to take engagement photos in NYC. There are so many gorgeous buildings and roads paved with cobblestones. The DUMBO area has so much character, which gives beautiful life to engagement photos.

These two cuties and I walked along some gorgeous cobblestone pathways and soaked in the views of the Manhattan skyline. The Brooklyn Bridge is such a beautiful piece of architecture that I would happily have every engagement session ever here!

We were lucky enough to photograph two of NYC’s bridges in our session! We finished at the Manhattan Bridge which made for some epic photos as well! We found the perfect cobblestone street to frame the bridge in the background. These are hands down some of my favorite DUMBO engagement photos I have ever taken, mainly because I adore this couple so much!

          Brooklyn Bridge NYC Engagement Photography

I met Will and Hannah for the first time in NYC for their engagement session after chatting with them on the phone. I love that so many of my couples live in different places. It makes exploring their hometowns even more enjoyable! Honestly, it’s refreshing to get out and experience new scenery with amazing couples in love for their engagement photography!

These two lovebirds were such good sports. We met at the apartment on Wall Street at 4:00 AM in order to get to the Brooklyn Bridge for their engagement photos before the sun rose. They live close enough that we were able to walk there! This was such a nice opportunity to get to know Hannah and Will, but it also helped wake us all up!

There’s something about seeing the Brooklyn Bridge early in the morning when no one else is around. The sight of it is surreal and magical. We were so lucky to have it all to ourselves for the entire engagement session! I love NYC so much and it was wonderful being able to explore such an iconic landmark with a special couple like Hannah and Will.

The Brooklyn Bridge made a stunning backdrop for their NYC engagement photos! Afterwards, the sun finally peeked out. We skipped around the surrounding streets near their neighborhood. It was important to Hannah and Will that we document their engagement session in an area that they love so much. Because they live here, they wanted to remember that time of their love story!

These two are moving to Charlottesville, VA right  before their wedding so I love that we were able to capture their gorgeous engagement photos at the Brooklyn Bridge and in their neighborhood. This just made the experience that much more special!!
