Annual Summer Book Sale

Book Sale Emergency Alert: NMPL’s Final Fling Before a 2-Year Blackout!

New Milford readers—this is not a drill! The Friends of the New Milford Public Library have issued a rare literary alert: their 2024 Annual Summer Book Sale is happening July 11–13 at New Milford High School… and it’s officially the LAST ONE for at least two years due to major library construction.

Let that sink in: no book sales in 2025. None in 2026. Just a long, page-less drought until the library reopens in 2027.

But here’s your golden window:

  • Thursday, July 11: Beat the crowd! Early Bird Hour (9–10 a.m.) for $5—or walk in free from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Friday, July 12: Open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.—plenty of time to hunt hidden gems
  • Saturday, July 13: HALF-PRICE FINALE from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.! (Yes, everything!)

We’re talking thousands of gently used books across every category—thrillers, cookbooks, kids’ series, memoirs, sci-fi, history, self-help—you name it. All priced to move, and all vanishing after Saturday.

And the Friends aren’t being dramatic—they’re being direct:

“Due to the library construction, this will be our LAST book sale for at least 2 years! Think ahead and STOCK up!!”

So grab your tote bags, rally your book-loving crew, and treat this like the literary last stand it truly is.
